Cheesy Chicken And Bacon Pasta Bake
- 150g Fusilli Pasta
Cook for around 2/3rds normal cooking time. Once done, drain and reserve.
- 1 onion, chopped
Moderate heat: fry for 10-15 minutes until golden.
- 3 large cloves of garlic, crushed
- 1/2 tsp paprika
Low heat: fry for 2 minutes, stirring continously
- 200ml boiling water
- 1/2 chicken stock cube
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
*Moderate to high heat: bring to a rolling boil stirring often until reduced to a thick coating sauce.
- 300g chicken breast, diced
- 3 rashers of bacon, diced
Moderate to high heat: fry until sealed; reserve;
- 200ml milk
- 25g margarine
- 25g plain flour
Make a roux sauce as per roux sauce.
- 200g mature cheddar cheese
Low to moderate heat: stir in to the roux until it is fully melted.
Combine the pasta and meat sauce in a deep oven-proof dish; stir in the cheese sauce and bake at Gas Mark 6 / 200°C for 30 minutes until crispy on top.
